Water Painting
Project Description:
- This painting was created after looking at Van Gough's sunflower painting using watercolors.
- I drew a vase sitting on a table.
- The vase was painted purple with red painted on it while it was still wet. This is called wet on wet.
- The table was painted brown and then I used the back of the paint bruch to make marks in the paint. This is called scaffito.
- The flower pedals and stems were painted with flat wash.
- The center of the flowers was painted brown with salt poured on it to create a texture in the middle of the flowers.
Extension Activity:
- This type of activity could be linked to Earth Day or Spring. The flowers could be a sign of life and the Earth being healthy. Students will be asked to draw a vase and add flowers to the top of it.
